Finding Leadership 정 (Belonging)

I am a Korean-Immigrant-American scholar focused on centering the experiences of racially marginalized communities, particularly on the experiences of the Asian American/AAPI community. My research interests include cultivating transformational spaces; developing counternarratives and counterstories to racialized contexts; engaging in collectivist leadership actions; and forming cross-racial coalitions in pursuit of racial, social, and economic justice.

For over 20 years, I was a history teacher, an assistant principal, a principal, principal supervisor, and assistant superintendent in the Bay Area and Wake County (NC). I am proud of my heritage, my experiences as a learner at UC Davis, UC Berkeley's Principal Leadership Institute, and East Carolina University’s International EdD program.

As an assistant professor at Towson University, I am continuing to engage with the struggle to enact racial, social, and economic justice through teaching, research, and in collaboration with community members.
